A good rule of thumb for staying alive: leave bounding over rooftops to stuntmen and superheroes.
Unless this man has a spandex outfit we don’t know about, Ethan Swanson of Illinois is very much the former – a daredevil who you may remember submitting an audition tape for American Ninja Warrior (as you do) - and now he's raised the stakes.
Courtesy of GoPro, he’s captured a jump from the top of a building, over the roof of another, and land on a set of stairs, all in one first-person swoop. Yes, essentially parkour on steroids, and, as a bonus, the stunt has also handily been captured from an adjacent perspective nearby, slowing it down to give him the aura of someone who appeared in The Matrix.
It's almost enough to make you think back to Andrew Garfield's 3D web spinning across Manhattan rooftops in his first outing as Spider-man, albeit this version lacking a serious amount of webbing and green screen.
Just don’t try it at home. Or anywhere else for that matter.
