“This is a ridiculously dumb idea.” How many men have uttered this phrase before violently meeting their demise?
daredevil
A stunt two years in the making, the insane footage starts with a close up of the man himself, harnessed up to his paragliding friend soaring down into Columbia River Gorge, Oregon under a thick blanket of wind, the elements only jangling our nerves some more.
Some shouting occurs, the amply sized rope is fidgeted in place and then in our man takes to the air like an airborne acrobat, unlatching himself from the glider and clasping the bar attached to the end of the rope to swing down into the canyon.
Obviously it didn’t take 24 months of rigorous planning to know that he’d need a backup ‘chute, and it’s not long before the plucky chap is pulling on the chord and lowering himself safely down to legendary status and the elation he deserves.
