Jeff Goldblum reading the 'steamed hams' script from 'The Simpsons' is internet gold
He's standing in for principal Skinner
I don’t think it’s at all cavalier of me to assume that you know of the ‘steamed hams’ scene in The Simpsons? The one where Skinner invites superintendent Chalmers around for lunch, but burns his roast and replaces the food with burgers he’s bought from Krusty Burger? Ones that he calls ‘steamed hams’? Well, it’s a very good scene, and if for some unfathomable reason, you need it, here it is:
Now I’m not sure why this particular scene has been adopted by this here internet and turned into an unstoppable meme, but it has, and we shouldn’t ask questions about things we don’t understand. It has, and that is all that matters:
Which brings us to today, and to Jeff Goldblum, somewhat of a human meme, and a man who displays an unwavering happiness to indulge the childish whims of internet journalists the world over.
At a recent junket for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, a journo from Gamespot neatly avoided asking any questions about the film or anything boring, and instead handed over a script of the steamed hams scene to Jeff, and politely asked whether he’d read the part of Seymour Skinner.
Which he did, really really well:
Please keep being you, Jeff Goldblum, please keep being you.
