What in the world is going on with Jeremy Clarkson's Twitter?
What have you done with the real Clarkson?
If there is one man who is absolutely, resolutely, unapologetically stuck in his ways, it’s Jeremy Clarkson.
Not for him chasing the latest trend, trying to be the cool cat, swimming in the slipstream of the latest phenomenon. No, he wears the same clothes (jacket and jeans), listens to the same music (middle-of-the-road dadrock, preferably recorded before 1985) and eats the same food (steak… and it better be warm).
So you can imagine our surprise when this was tweeted from his account:
And in case we thought it was just us that was seeing this apparent abberation – someone rather closer to the man himself was just as shocked:
People reacted exactly as you’d expect:
And just eight minutes later – there was more. More than we could ever have imagined.
His daughter was even more perturbed than before.
Come on, someone had to make this gag:
Others were stunned into silence:
So what is going on?
It appears that he is on the island with his wife, but it’s not known if he’s there for work or pleasure.
Maybe he’s indulging in too much pleasure.
Or maybe he is, suddenly, unexpectedly, actually getting down with the kids. If he starts tweeting about Drake then we know something’s seriously amiss.
While we’re here, he recently shared a sneak peek of the second series of the second series of The Grand Tour, which has been affected by Richard Hammond’s crash last month.
Last month, he posted on Drivetribe: "As I write, James May is sitting in the hell hole that is Gatwick Airport waiting for a budget airline to take him to a shoot that Hammond should have been doing
"Meanwhile, I've been up since dawn, rewriting all of the scripts and ideas we had to accommodate the fact that Hammond can't drive for the next few months. Meanwhile, he is lying in a bed in the Swiss Alps, while pretty nurses attend to his every need, and give him drugs."
We’d hazard a guess that Clarkson nabbed a few of those drugs before he headed off to Mallorca.
