Jordan Peele has announced a follow-up to 'Get Out' and the rumoured cast looks fantastic
Extremely exciting
Get Out came out of nowhere and slapped our big butts, didn’t it? Then, almost as quickly as it appeared, it set about taking over the world in a way most directors can only dream of, by smashing both the box office and the critics to smithereens.
Yep, the movie was the 10th most profitable movie of 2017, and Jordan Peele nabbed an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay (he reacted to the news in the greatest way possible, too).
So after all of that, you’d be forgiven for being even a smidgen excited about what Jordan Peele has up his esteemed sleeve next. Rumours have been floating around and tidbits have been uttered, but here’s a first, pwoper look at what he’s gifting us next.
The film will be called Us, it’ll be directed and written by Peele and by the looks of things, it’s another horror:
Nice and simple there, good stuff.
As to other info on the upcoming flick, Variety have reported that Lupita Nyong’o, Elisabeth Moss and Winston Duke are all rumoured to be involved, and that it’s looking at a March 15, 2019 release date.
It’s also being produced by Jason Blum, of Blumhouse, who worked on Get Out and a bunch of other mega-successful horrors, so we’re dealing with a bunch of big, reliable names here.
Interestingly, The Hollywood Reporter, reported (obviously) that it’ll apparently focus on two couples, one black and one white - so we’re most likely looking at Nyong’o and Duke as one, and Moss as one half of the other.
And that’s your lot, we’re afraid. It’s all under-wraps at the moment, and you’re gonna have to deal with it, sorry. Gonna have to wait a year, mate. Get on with your life. Go outside. It’ll all be OK in the end.
