Back in 1995, Hollywood execs were hoping that a big screen adaptation of the dark comic strip character Judge Dredd would prove a box office success and kick off a new franchise.
But after it scraped together a paltry $34 million in the US off a $90 million budget, Stallone's blockbuster was seen as a non-starter.
Now, 17 years later it's being given a second look. This time, we've got more reasons to be excited.
Firstly, it's been scripted by Alex Garland, best known for 28 Days Later and The Beach, while the tone has been darkened considerably. It stars RED and Star Trek actor Karl Urban as the lead justice-giver while support is offered by Lena Headey and Olivia Thirlby.
Oh and it's in 3D. Obviously.
Take a look at the brand new trailer below and let us know what you think.
Dredd opens in UK cinemas on September 7th
