It takes a lot for any film to hold its own among Oscar nominees, but Kingsman’s ability to do just that has earned it a well-deserved sequel.
What might have been a huge summer hit was instead given an airing at the same time as prestige films, yet its blend of humour, gadgets and Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn meant it would always have an audience.
When the sequel does eventually land, we’ll have been waiting a whole two-and-a-half years but luckily it looks like Kingsman: The Golden Circle has everything you’d want from an action spy comedy. Matthew Vaughn! Channing Tatum! Early-Bond English accents! Massive fuck-off explosions! Flat caps! Mark Strong talking slowly!
The sequel is chock-full of all of the above, with big-name actors and guys punching each other in the back of expensive cars thrown in for good measure. If you want more than that from a film then you’re probably being a bit selfish. Check it out below.
