Kung Fury short film is a glorious slice of 80s nostalgia
Remember that amazing David Hasselhoff music video for his neon-saturated eighties resurrection tune, True Survivor? You know the one - white Lamborghini, killer arcade machine, lots of leather? We wrote about it here.
While a glorious piece in its own right, it was only the tip of the nostalgic iceberg, released to promote the Kickstarter-funded film Kung Fury. The creation of the fantastically titled LaserUnicorns, the project was duly moneyed to the tune of £412,000 by 17,000 adoring fans.
Having received its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this week, the 30-minute action romp (which follows the life of gravel-toned ex-cop hero, Kung Fury, who gained extraordinary powers after being bitten by a cobra and struck by lightning) is now available to view for free on YouTube - or just right below these very words.
So grab yourself a noisy snack, dim the lights and settle back for one of the most enjoyable eighties revivals you've ever witnessed. It turns out they do make them like they used to.
