Last meals of death row prisoners will make you lose your appetite
A fruit salad made with grapes from the top of Mt Vesuvius. A bloody rack of Argentine ribs removed by Carlos Tevez. A mango sourced from the Burmese rainforest. One can of Crystal Pepsi.
While highly unlikely a death row prisoner would ever get away with the above order as a last meal, it’s no more ridiculous than the outdated and fairly macabre concept itself (last year, 28 inmates were executed by six US states, and over 2,000 currently remain on death row), illustrated superbly in this photo series.
Recreating some of the last meals of notorious US prisoners who met their fates before indigestion could even kick in, photo artist Henry Hargreaves must have made a lot of trips to BBQ joints - and his local Blu-ray store by the looks of it.
Which makes you wonder: considering the calories and sheer amounts of sugar involved, a few more of those meals and it might have killed them anyway.
