We’re far too young to remember Seventies TV icon Steve Austin, aka The Six Million Dollar Man, but we have seen the reruns, featuring Lee Majors, and we have to say we fancy having some well impressive robotic powers.
Like jumping up and off buildings, catching up the bus of a wet and windy morning, being able to score 40-yard pile drivers at Sunday morning football – nothing too fancy.
So, maybe we should have a word with American engineering company Boston Dynamics, because it looks like they’ve got a head start when it comes to robotic feats of derring-do.
Take their latest creation, The Sand Flea. A reconnaissance tool developed for the military, it might look a bit shady (yes, it looks like a toy car from a pound shop), but it can propel itself up to 30 feet in the air thanks to some fancy technical gizmos.
Whether it can help to win wars is one thing, but we reckon it will sure fox the enemy for a couple of minutes anyway.
Watch a demonstration of its airborne abilities below.
