Your favourite Uncle Louis Theroux has a secret three-part series coming soon
Could this mean what we think it means?
Every time we’re treated to a Louis Theroux documentary, we’re reminded of the frustrating wait we’ll have to put up with until the next one rolls around.
Nearly a year has passed since we last saw uncle Louis on our TV screens, with his Talking to Anorexia special, following theDark States mini-series, which aired at the end of 2017.
However, the wait is almost over, with the documentary maker confirming another three-parter is not too far away.
We’re yet to learn major details about Theroux’s next project, though we’d love to see him pick up one of the ideas developed by the Louis Theroux bot and turn it into a real show.
“I’ve got a series coming up, it’s coming out in November. I can’t say much about it. But it’s a three-parter and it’s set in America. BBC Two,” Theroux told The Sun.
We can expect further details to emerge as its autumn release date draws ever closer, but Theroux also said, when questioned on his bucket list of interviewees:
“Trump would be amazing. I always used to say R Kelly, because there were allegations over sexual misconduct. But I think BBC 3 might have done a documentary about some alleged sexual misdeeds so that horse might have bolted.
“I follow the Weinstein allegations avidly and I think there is something really interesting with that, but I haven’t figured out how you would get into it.”
In addition to Dark States and recent feature-length effort My Scientology Movie, Theroux has travelled across America for plenty of his other BBC productions, including LA Stories and his infamous Westboro Baptist Church special The Most Hated Family in America.
There has been talk for a while about the British filmmaker working on a documentary about President Donald Trump so, if Theroux has landed his dream subject (or, we presume, people close to him) then it could be a fascinating watch.
Might this be the mystery project he has been working on? We’ll soon find out.
