Having spent years festering in development hell, suffered extensive reshoots back and soared way over budget in 2012 – Max is finally back.
We feared we might never see Mad Max: Fury Road, written and directed by keeper of the franchise George Miller and starring Tom Hardy as the hardy desert wanderer seeking peace of mind after his wife and child are killed, but this debut trailer suggests it will have been worth the wait.
Once more set in a dystopian hell-hole where the last scraps of humanity battle for survival, including gangs and ravagers in hulking great vehicles, what looks to set this latest in the franchise apart is that the action, with some slow-motion, high-definition action set pieces promising spectacular things.
But don’t take our word for it – check the latest trailer below.
