Making A Murderer: Avery lawyer says it's obvious who killed Halbach (and she's going to prove it)

Whether you think Stephen Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey are innocent or guilty, it's pretty clear there should be a retrial. 

But while the American justice system stands in the way, superlawyer Kathleen Zellner has taken on Avery's case and begun picking it apart while tweeting her progress. Not only does she say that she's found new evidence that proves her client's innocence, she also claims that she knows who the killer is.  

While half the world thinks they're a part-time detective in Avery's case (to some success), Zellner is one of the biggest dogs when it comes to the world of wrongful convictions. According to her website, in the past 20 years, she has righted more wrongful convictions than any private attorney in America.

Zellner took up the most talked-about case in the world last month and has already made strides with some of the best scientists in the world helping her. For instance, she's already said, in a since deleted tweet:

Also body was not burned in burn pit bc heat would have burned down Avery's garage. A lot of junk science at the junkyard.#MakingAMurderer

But it's this recent interview with TheLipTV (via Uproxx), that's most interesting. Zellner believes it is "fairly obvious" who killed Teresa Halbach:

It’s the evidence. In having had a number of these cases, it has the signature of a wrongful conviction case. They only focused on him.

 

They did not look at a lot of other suspects, certainly some very key people they should have been looking at.

 

There was a very poor investigation done of the victim’s background, who she was involved with, the circumstances of her life.

 

It had all of the hallmarks of a wrongful conviction case.

According to TheLipTV, Zellner “also intends to prove who actually killed Teresa Halbach. She asserted it is fairly obvious if you review the record of the criminal case.”

Comments which also seem to echo Steven Avery's own recent thoughts about the Avery family's involvement in the case.

As much as the drama of it all is addictive, here's hoping Zellner can get the two men who could quite likely be innocent a fair trial to prove it.
