This may be the moment where it really sinks in how big 3D printing is going to be, very soon.
Richard Morrison, a tech enthusiast, has 3D printed his own brain, using freely available materials and a little technical skill.
After volunteering for an MRI scan, and obtaining a file of the data, Richard then set about replicating his brain.
"This program called Mango just blew me away - you can just download it and use it on any computer, that was how I got started."
"I thought it would be good fun, I'm totally passionate and really interested in brains and all such related things, so it seemed like a nice momento and conversation piece to have on the mantelpiece. Cost-permitting I'm going to try having it printed in various materials."
The video below shows some cool features you can 'operate' on your 'brain' using Mango - including viewing yourself without hair, and looking inside your own head - even in your eye sockets - while the image above shows the final product.
Everyone we know is getting a print-out of our brain for their Christmas present. It will technically be a very 'thoughtful' present.
