There are lots of stomach-churning clichés that are still used when it comes to love: “It was love at first sight!”; “We’re soul mates!”; “Meeting each other was our destiny!”
While this sort of thing might make you want to vomit, one woman’s story about how she realised her fiancée was in the background of her childhood family photo is pretty incredible – even if you are a loveless, stone-hearted sort of person.
Make-up artist Verona Koliqi, who lives in London but is originally from Kosovo, shared her amazing story on Instagram.
She revealed that she was visiting a beach in Montenegro with her family ten years ago when the photo was taken – and her now fiancé Mirand Buzaku unwittingly photobombed them.
She said on Instagram: “One day I was looking at this old beach photo that was taken 10 years ago.
“My fiancé… @mirandbuzaku being the type to look behind the photo, he noticed the kid in the back had the same shirt, shorts and floaty as him. We analysed further and confirmed with family members that it’s him photobombing my family photo.”
The pic has now been shared more than 30,000 times and other commenters shared their joy at the heartwarming story.
Instagrammer mc1971 wrote: “Meant to be!! So Sweet!” and _lisa_m86 said: “I love this story”.
Some commenters even shared their own tales of lovers who crossed paths earlier in their lives.
Heavycharms said: “So cool! My boyfriend and I discovered that we were unknowingly were at the same small concert (which maybe 50 people attended) about 4 years before we met. It’s wonderful and no coincidence. You’re meant to be!”
Flisscoombs wrote: “My daughter spent most Christmas Days with her godparents visiting the house next door to her husband. They met years later and she realised she had been to the neighbour’s house often. It’s about 50km from where we live.”
Verona and Mirand got in engaged at a resort in Turkey earlier this year and plan to get married soon.
Good luck to the happy couple.
