Not content with dominating the cinema box office, Marvel has its sights on the urban music scene. Well, sort of.
The comic book company has assembled a whole new batch of variant hip hop-inspired on 2 Dope Boyz, based on artwork from artists Future, Masta Ace, Consequence, CZARFACE, and Blackalicious.
Future’s Beast Mode – a mixtape produced with Zaytoven – gets turned into a Monsters Unleashed cover. Masta Ace‘s 1995 classic Sittin’ On Chrome mutates into an Inhumans vs. X-Men tribute. Consequence’s Don’t Quit Your Day Job is reimagined with Slapstick – a lesser known hero with the powers of a Looney Tunes style character (seriously) – while CZARFACE’s Every Hero Needs a Villain gets a new cover star in Thanos (let's face it, the biggest villains of them all) and Blackalicious’ Blazing Arrow gets a new Hawkeye cover (who else?)
