McDonald’s is launching chocolate covered fries called the McChoco Potato
We knew there were some clowns working at McDonald’s but the fast food giant’s latest product really is an edible abomination.
Hailed as a new ‘innovation’ and ‘a surprising and unique menu item’, here comes the McChoco Potato; essentially fries drizzled with chocolate sauce.
Once the fries are ordered, diners (yes, we know the seats are bolted but it still classifies as a restaurant) will also get a choice of white or milk chocolate to trickle over their golden strips of potato, which McDonald’s claims makes for a “wonderful salty and sweet harmonious taste”.
We get it. Sometimes you want sweet, sometimes you want savoury, but surely anyone with a single IQ point would do the entirely normal thing of wolfing their fries, washing it down with a large soft drink and then finishing with the greatest dessert of them all: the McFlurry.
Launching in Japan (obviously), there's no word on whether this unholy matrimony of chocolate and fries will ever reach these shores. And that's probably for the best.
