Michael Fassbender is a bit of a bully in the latest trailer for Steve Jobs
“You’re insubordinate. You make people miserable. The board believes you are no longer necessary to the company.”
Apple stakeholders were correct on two of those points when attempting to cut ties with co-founder Steve Jobs in the late eighties, a few years before the Mac Messiah returned for his second coming in 1997, leading the company to the global success it enjoys today.
Like it or not, Steve Jobs was a bit of a douchebag with his co-workers. Walter Isaacson’s tell-all biography told us as much, and now Danny Boyle’s upcoming film written by Aaron Sorkin and based on Isaacson’s book is about to hammer this home.
Despite not even hitting cinemas yet, Steve Jobs has already ruffled its fair share of feathers over in Cupertino due to its unflattering, bullying portrayal of Apple’s former chief, with current CEO Tim Cook calling it ‘Opportunistic’ during an appearance on US TV yesterday.
Well, if you’re reading Tim, best avoid this new trailer: it gives us the most terrifying glimpse of Michael Fassbender’s Jobs yet.
Divisive character? Oscar winning-director? First-rate actor? We're pitching our tent outside the Odeon as we speak.
Steve Jobs is in cinemas from 13 November
