The new season of ‘Mindhunter’ will feature The Charles Manson Murders
Here are all the details on the forthcoming series
If you’re unfamiliar with the Charles Manson murders, the next 12 months will change that.
Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will touch on the killings, most notably that of actress Sharon Tate, but that won’t be the only pop culture coverage.
Mindhunter, the Netflix crime drama, will also turn to the Manson murders in its second season, which is expected to start filming before the end of the year.

Here’s our first look at Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio in Quentin Tarantino’s next film
Season 1 of Mindhunter, which stars Jonathan Groff as FBI agent Holden Ford, featured interviews with fictional versions of real-life serial killers including Edmund Kemper and Jerry Brudos.
It was rated as one of the best Netflix Original TV shows of 2017, and has developed a loyal following from fans who would often binge the whole thing as quickly as possible.
Manson is mentioned by name in the first season, but it is understood he will actually appear when the show returns… along with some other notable murderers.
According to That Hashtag Show, Manson will be one of the interviewees in the upcoming season, while there is also a strong chance the show will feature David Berkowitz, also known as Son of Sam. The second season is expected to come out in 2019, though we’re still awaiting an official release date.
Manson died in November 2017, having spent more than four decades in prison for his role in a string of murders committed in 1969.
He headed up a cult – known as the Manson Family – was behind the murder of actress Sharon Tate, the case which will form the basis of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
That film already has a star-studded cast, thought to include Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and plenty more, and is due to be released in Summer 2019.
Mindhunter, meanwhile, is yet to confirm any new casting decisions in relation to its second season.
