We're a touch concerned about the chaps over at NetherRealm Studios.
Creators of the Mortal Kombat series, we're starting to fear just how they arrived at the realistic effects of their latest title's stomach-emptying finishing moves. Have they really seen a man torn in half by a ninja? How do they know what a spine sounds like when it's pulled out of someone's mouth? And only someone who's spent a lot of time with blood could surely create such life-like splatter effects.
All we're saying is, after watching the launch trailer for Mortal Kombat X, we might put in an anonymous tip for the authorities to check out the studio's basement. Just to be safe.
Mortal Kombat X arrives on PlayStation 3, Play Station 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on 14 April
