Cult TV show The Mysterious Cities of Gold is getting a 21st-century makeover as a videogame.
A kickstarter campaign was launched, initially for solely a French release, before word got round the internet; now it has been expanded to be translated into other languages - including English - as well as additionally receiving a PC release.
The game will be called The Mysterious Cities of Gold: Secret Paths and will be released on Wii U, 3DS, iPad and iPhone - and could be released as soon as this autumn.
The team had already spent their development budget on the game itself, so were asking for extra funds to create the additional versions - around £19,000 in total - and they've already received virtually all of it, with just a little more required.
The game promises to be faithful to the original, with graphics adapted from the existing animated show. Let's hope it gets a gold medal for looks, and gameplay.
