Far be it from us to blow our own trumpet willy-nilly, but sometimes you can’t keep that darned light hidden away under that rather fetching, but mostly unheralded, bushel.
So it is with some modesty that we are rather proud to announce that ShortList Media has been nominated in the Santander Small to Medium (SME) sized Business of the Year category at this year’s National Business Awards.
Our rivals cover the breadth of business opportunities in the UK today: from taxi management solutions, web hosting and bespoke suit makers to artisan bakers, cocktail lounges and organic beauty products.
However, it is going up against Liam Gallagher and his foray into the fashion world with his acclaimed Pretty Green label that we’re particularly excited about. One might say the great man has finally met his match. Not that we’d put it like that of course.
Oh, and by all means, insert your ShortList made the shortlist gag here.
And one last point, if one were to add up the combined turnover of all the finalists in this year's National Business Awards it would come to £96bn. Coincidentally, the same figure required to bail out the Greek economy.
