Scared of heights? Then for the love of goodness do all that you can to avoid seeing The Walk. Even the new teaser trailer is likely to push you over the... never mind.
Anyone who saw 2008's captivating Man On Wire will be familiar with the events at the heart of The Walk. Far from a repeat performance of the Oscar-winning documentary, Robert Zemeckis' big screen adaptation looks to tell the theatrical story of high-wire artist Philippe Petit's walk between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre in 1974.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as the French daredevil, with Ben Kingsley supporting as Petit's equally-edgy mentor. An ensemble of French (and French-Canadian) talent has been lined up to lend the film some Gallic authenticity, including Charlotte Le Bon, Clément Sibony and César Domboy. Expect tense set-pieces, stomach-churning use of 3D and a smattering of Oscar-hunting performances.
And if you haven't seen Man on Wire (and you're not scared of heights), we recommend you seek it out immediately.
The Walk arrives in cinemas on 2 October 2015
