The trailer for Netflix's new comedy 'Private Life' looks excellent
Any film with Paul Giamatti and Kathryn Hahn in is worth watching
Here’s a fact for you: any film with Paul Giamatti in is worth watching. Here’s another fact for you: any film with Kathryn Hahn in is worth watching.
If we take both those facts as gospel - which we will, because we said it, and everything we say is spot-on, 100% the truth - we can deduce that a film with both Paul Giamatti and Kathryn Hahn in must be twice as worth watching. This makes sense, and we would encourage you not to argue this point.
As such, you should definitely be watching Private Life, when it hits Netflix on October 5.
Here’s the trailer:
The film comes from writer and director Tamara Jenkins, an indie darling who gave us films like Slums of Beverly Hills and The Savages, and follows a 40-something couple as they try every method under the sun to conceive, whilst also dealing with the return of college dropout Sadie, who turns up on their doorstep.
You can see what type of film this’ll be - it’s very ‘independent comedy’, but with a cast this strong, it’ll hopefully avoid the twee trappings of a great deal of that ilk. Just remember the equation:
Paul Giamatti + Kathryn Hahn = worth watching
You can apply this to every film, ever, and it works, all the time. You’re welcome.
