This new Netflix murder mystery with 94% on Rotten Tomatoes will satisfy your binge-watching needs
Get involved before everyone's talking about it
You’ve been working your way through Netflix lately, bingeing on show after show to the point where it feels as though you’ve exhausted every option.
You watched all of Stranger Things in one weekend, before returning to The Good Place for some light relief and giving the fourth season of BoJack Horseman another watch.
But what now? You can’t exactly wait a week for new episodes like it’s the ‘90s or something.
Luckily, Netflix has another new show you can blitz through or take slowly, and it’s great news if you love murder. Fiction about murder, not doing actual real life ones, just in case the lawyers are reading.
Starring Jessica Biel, The Sinner is due to arrive on UK Netflix on 7 November, but North American audiences have already been given a taste and are making all the right noises.
Described by Vulture as ‘a perfectly executed murder mystery’, it begins with an act carried out by Biel’s character Cora, which we won’t go into too much detail on, but which you can probably figure out.
It’s not your classic murder mystery, then, instead focusing on the ‘why’ rather than the ‘who’, and it seems to be hitting all the right notes.
The eight-part drama, which also features Bill Pullman as a detective, has a score of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing.
Time’s Daniel D’Addario has described Biel as “raw and compelling as a woman who is unable to decode her own instincts”, while Robert Lloyd, writing for the LA Times, said the show “has a certain gravitational pull”.
