Ever since Sesame Street first introduced us to the marvels of the triangle, it's been up there as one of our favourite shapes (circle is still top). Which goes some way to explaining why we're such big fans of Nike's latest Metric release.
This rubberised creation is the Nike Blazer Mid Metric in "Royal Blue" - a geometric update of the classic basketball court shoe.
Having matured considerably from 1972's canvas offering, the new release sees the upper take on a bold, sci-fi styling: a blend of leather, synthetic and textiles have been layered to create a metric pattern, replacing the iconic Swoosh logo altogether.
The original DNA of the shoe can still be found in the rubber vulc sole unit, while some Nike branding finds its way into the leather heel panels and tongue tab.
Currently available from Nike specialists including Hanon, the Royal Blue Metric will arrive in retailers on 27 February for £89. You might want to tri them on first though.
