Brazil's golden boy is about to get the golden boot he always dreamt of.
No, not the award for netting the most goals this in the World Cup (though he's on the way to doing that) - Nike has created a special version of their Hypervenom boot with a nod to Neymar Jr.'s street-playing past.
As Nike Football Design Director Denis Dekovic explains in the following video, when Neymar was growing up he longed for golden football boots. Unable to find any, he resorted to spraying his own (he was clearly a humble kid).
With Brazil racing into the final 16 of the competition, Nike has unveiled the golden version of the Neymar-endorsed Hypervenom - a delicate boot designed for players looking for tight control in crowded areas of the pitch. There's even a golden spray paint can printed on the boot's inner sole.
We're expecting the Brazilian superstar to swap his vibrant blood orange boots for these golden versions when they take on Chile on 28 June, while the rest of the world will be able to get their hands on them (and feet in them) on 26 June.
