Halloween-themed clothing has an unfortunate habit of leaning more toward trick than treat: a conventional trainer or jumper covered in some sort of blood or ectoplasm, that can only be acceptably worn for around seven days of the year.
Nike should thus be saluted for issuing a 31 October special that's suitable for the other 364 days of the year.
At first glance, the Air Max 90 Ice 'Halloween' isn't all that sinister: a "pumpkin" (orange, but the marketing team need an angle) nubuck leather upper and heel section contrasts nicely with the vivid flashes of red on the swoosh and lace tab. An oddly textured black sections gives a hint of flesh-like horrors, but the effect isn't so pronounced as make these a fancy dress only affair. Ice gum souls round off the look nicely.
Set to go on sale on 30 October on Nike.com, we're sorry to say that we doubt they'll pass as an entire Halloween costume. Maybe pair them with a white sheet with eye holes?
