No, Nike's printers aren't running low on Cyan.
In its usual multicoloured pallet of soft greys and gym-friendly blues, the Nike Max Air Tavas isn't what you'd describe as a head-turner. A slim, minimal running shoe, it calls on the original stylings of one of Nike's most successful sports shoes and adds modern touches - or rather, removes the old fashioned ones. Canvas and stitching is out, with no-sew overlays cover a breathable mesh and suede upper, reducing weight and bulk.
In its bold new University Red uniform, the Tavas becomes an entirely different beast. It's an aggressive, profile enhancing colourway, managing to look even more svelte than it's concrete-toned predecessors.
Currently available on Titolo for £78 and headed to Nike.com in the next few weeks, we implore you to wear these with something a little... quieter?
