Noel Gallagher: "I would do Bond Theme in a Heartbeat"
Never mind being a rock 'n' roll star, Noel Gallagher wants to make it as a movie star instead. Sort of.
He's thrown his hat into the ring to write the theme for the next Bond movie, Spectre, due to arrive in November.
He told German publication N-TV that "I would do it if I was asked. I would do it in a heartbeat."
However, he noted that, "I could do it and it would be great, but I'm not a star and for that you have to be a big star. You have to be someone in America."
The hot favourite to follow Adele's hugely successful Skyfall theme is currently Sam Smith, riding high on a wave of huge worldwide album sales and several Grammys, despite his song Stay With Me being caught up in the current 'song-copying' debate due to its similarity to a previous Tom Petty hit. Meanwhile, Daniel Craig is keen to reunite the "winning" Skyfall team, favouring Adele to return for the Spectre theme.
While Noel mulls over soundtrack opportunities, there are rumours of a reunion in the Gallagher camp, with his brother Liam recently tweeting a picture of himself holding a backstage pass for a Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds show, commenting "Keeping it in the family...LG x"
Noel's second solo album, Chasing Yesterday, was released a few weeks ago, becoming the fastest-selling album of 2015 so far, while the man himself has recently completed a sold-out UK arena tour.
