Obama Will Be Heading Into The Wild With Bear Grylls
Barack Obama’s final year as US President continues to promise more of the wonderful, as news broke yesterday of him teaming up Bear Grylls for a new nature special.
Obama will be trekking into the Alaskan wilderness with the adventurer for a new special episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls, as the pair explore the effects of climate change in the area. The special, which will be taped, will be shown on NBC later this year and will be sure to make UK shores in due time.
But with the show renown for Bear’s survival techniques and… ahem… improvisational approach to rehydration amongst, online response to the news quickly turned to “Would Obama drink his own urine in the special?”
Someone even set up a White House petition asking demanding Obama make the big glug. For science reasons. No, really.
“I will not deny your suspicion that there may have been some suggestions put forward by Bear Gryllls’ team that were not approved by the Secret Service”, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnet told reporters aboard Air Force One on Monday.
So while Obama may not be necessarily be rehydrating in an unorthodox manner, the new special will certainly promise a lot for viewers. Now in its second season, Running Wild with Bear Grylls sees the former SAS man and survivalist take celebrities such including Kate Winslet, Michelle Rodriguez and Channing Tatum on one on one adventures, pushing their survival skills to the limit.
