Picture this introduction playing like a montage over some vaporwave:
Palace have been called “the Supreme of London” because, well, they’re cool and they sponsor a bunch of skaters (like Supreme used to) and make clothes for skaters (like Supreme kinda still do) and everyone loves them. The queues are shorter than Supreme’s (although still considerable) and aren’t yet besieged by a million middle-aged dudes with bots to buy up drops as soon as they land. They also, thankfully, take themselves less seriously than Supreme. We like them, Palace. They are good and fun and we like them.
OK, done.
Big P mainstays, skaters Blondey McCoy and Lucien Clarke, front the lookbook for Palace’s new Summer collection, looking a mixture of surly (Lucien) and blazed (Blondey) but always well turned out. The collection’s style could be summed up as “Talking Heads if they were dead into playing five-a-side in the rain” and we’re very much into it.
Some of our favourite bits: the garage-inspired PALACE JEANS denim jacket, the quartered pastel-colour shirt, and all the trackies. Man, we love a good trackie.
As the Palace website states: it’s time to saveth pea blad.
The Palace 2017 summer collection will be available at Palace’s London and New York spots as well as online from 5 May
