Peter Shilton is a bona fide England World Cup legend. Despite only playing his first tournament in 1982, at the age of 32, he racked up 17 finals appearances, keeping 10 clean sheets - a record he holds along with French 'keeper Fabian Barthez.
Aside from all this he holds the England caps record, with 125, and clocked up over 1000 senior games, the all-time record for the most competitive appearances in world football. Not bad, when all's said and done.
In the latest of our weekly series as we approach Brazil '14, we spoke to Peter to discover his top 5 World Cup moments. Read on for memories from the '82, '86 and classic 1990 World Cups.

1. Bryan Robson Scoring Against France in 1982
"I think the first moment was in my first World Cup in Spain in '82, when we were playing France in Bilbao, and after 30 seconds we were 1-0 up and Bryan Robson scored the fastest goal. I remember it was a tremendously hot day - incredibly hot - I remember it being even hotter than when we played in Mexico...there was no air around. In fact one of the funny moments was that they ironed the numbers on the short before the match - as they had a squad-type situation - and it was so hot that the numbers fell off the shorts on the middle of the pitch. Everybody thought it was paper but it was the numbers falling off the shorts. But it was great to beat France 3-1, it was a great start to that World Cup, although we came home unbeaten, having lost out on a league basis."
2. The save against Poland in 1986
"My second moment would be in '86 when we beat Poland 3-0. Having lost the first game against Portgual and drew with Morocco, we were under pressure. I remember in the first few minutes of the game, one of their players got clean through and I managed to get down and block it - and Terry Butcher got back and knocked it back to me - and I think it was a vital save, because we went on to score and win the game, but there was so much pressure on us that if that had gone in, we could have been out of the World Cup. So that was a big moment."
3. The save against Egypt in 1990
"In Italia '90, another moment people won't remember is that we needed to beat Egypt to get through to the next stages and it was 0-0, and I remember 10 minutes in, the only shot they had, he hit it quite well and I got down very sharply and made the save, and we scored in the last few minutes with Mark Wright, so we could have been going home on the plane then."
4. The save against Cameroon in 1990
"After that was the game against Cameroon - I felt I had a pretty good game that day, especially when I think they had a one-against-one very early on in the game and I managed to come out and block that, and that could have put us behind in the game, which would have been difficult. Obviously to go on and win 3-2 was a great moment, to get into the semis."
5. The Semi-final against West Germany in 1990
"I think, finally, it was the semi-final...although it was very disappointing at the end, especially having faced 4 penalties and went the right way every time, and obviously every one was struck right in the corners - didn't really have much luck on that, you'd hope that you'd get a bit of a chance with one or two penalties. I remember making a save from Jurgen Klinnsmann - point blank, which I consider one of my best World Cup saves - in that game and one or two others - although there was an unlucky goal with the deflection. It was a great game, and I thought I had a good game in that one."
