When is a hat not a hat? When it's a lamp, obviously.
As confusing as that sounds, allow us to explain. The doyen of product design Philippe Starck has created a lamp without a shade. Instead, you provide it with your hat.
Inspired by the simple idea of creating an object with two functions, the Chapeau table lamp requires any any type of hat as a lampshade to diffuse the LED lighting.
Designed for interiors and lighting brand Flos, the gadget was presented at Euroluce at the 2013 salone del mobile.
Sadly, there's no word on when you can purchase this. But we suggest you head to the Flos website and keep refreshing the Philippe Starck page.
