Police break up 'fully-fledged rave' on the Bakerloo Line
“Real live drum ‘n’ bass on the Underground right now”
And they say the underground music scene isn’t what it was these days.
A ‘full-fledged rave’ took place on the Bakerloo Line last night featuring a full PA system, lighting rig and an MC.
“Not your normal Monday night on the Bakerloo line,” wrote YouTuber Svenskier and that is definitely accurate, with the party in full swing for a good few stops until the police finally boarded at Regent’s Park and shut down the show.
The guest MC was none other than Harry Shotta, who holds the World Record for most words rapped in a song, and treated the up-for-it crowd to some lyrical flow before the feds got involved.
Naturally, the incident got social media talking:
Although not everyone was happy, including this ABSOLUTE MISERY OF A MOANER:
The British Transport Police didn’t seem to mind, taking the incident in good heart:
Here’s a fan’s-eye view of the rave:
Absolutely brilliant.
And, in case you were wondering, here’s the track which gave Harry the world record, hammering out 1,771 words and beating Eminem's previous record of 1,560 (set with 'Rap God'):
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "At 10.40pm yesterday evening, BTP officers were called to the northbound Bakerloo platform at Paddington station after reports of a party on board a Tube.
"Officers attended and spoke with a man who agreed to turn off the speakers and the light systems, they then left the station.
"Whilst officers relish any opportunity to experience underground drum and bass, we’d kindly ask DJs to refrain from using the Tube as a pop-up club.
"It may be the Easter holiday but there is a time and a place and we’d ask everyone to consider other passengers using the network."
