Nobody does ‘Prairie’ like Ralph Lauren. Inspired by vintage blankets found at his Double RL ranch in Colorado, the styling of this Polo line backpack, crafted from durable twill, hand-burnished leather and antique nickel hardware, features one of the designer’s most iconic prints. Inspired by Navajo patterns and the American Southwestern frontier where it was conceived, the Beacon print has been a regular in Polo Ralph Lauren collections since the label’s inception in 1967. Originally the work of the Pueblo tribes, it was later developed by the neighbouring Navajo, who gained a reputation for their elaborate tapestries and craftsmanship. As the textile trade grew globally, the patterns gradually assumed Asian, European and South American motifs, and today encompass cross-cultural influences alongside the original Native American designs.
