The sprawling mansion of GTA 5. The deserted ranch of The Last of Us. The vacant cityscapes of Mirror's Edge. All of them beautiful, none of them real - until now. Sort of.
The following four-minute montage plays out like the most vivid dream of a video game fan: a feast of locations, settings and vistas from a score of classic titles apparently brought to life.
But alas, it's all just a well crafted trick of CGI. The work of 3D artist Tim Hijlkema,Video Game Locations 2 takes you to places you've been before, but with an unsettling level of reality. It's like revisiting that familiar bedroom you grew up in as a child, but the lights are brighter, the toys are cleaner and everything is oddly perfect.
