It took 13 years for the tenth series of Red Dwarf to arrive, but luckily it looks like the eleventh will be coming along a little quicker than that.
Danny John-Jules, who plays the Cat, confirmed previous reports that Doug Naylor has been writing, and revealed that the whole team are getting together next week to discuss Series XI.
Speaking to Digital Spy, he commented, “All I can say, is that Doug Naylor is slaving away writing scripts and we've got lunch next week. That's as far as I can tell you! I have the glorious privilege to know that that's the last thing that I ever have to worry about with Red Dwarf - the scripts. I'm quite confident that whatever comes off that pen will be quite funny. It's a great position to be in. I don't have to worry about the scripts. The question's always, 'What the hell are we going to be up to now?' and 'How tight are my costumes going to be?'"
Fellow star Craig Charles has, of course, recently returned from I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! following the sudden death of his brother and was allowed to take time off from Coronation Street filming duties to film Red Dwarf X, which appeared on Dave two years ago. It is expected that Red Dwarf XI will air in late Autumn 2015.
