Not content with acting, directing, writing and, er, comedianing, Ricky Gervais is now branching out into the world of technology by launching a voice-based iPhone app.
The free app is called Just Sayin', and allows users to speak to each other within social media, and share voice recordings, text, photos and video.
Gervais, who is a partner and creative director of the enterprise, together with voice tech company CloudTalk, has stated that the app will be "to radio what Twitter is to newsprint...making the human voice a natural part of any social web experience".
CloudTalk's David Hayden added "Voice has been the missing link to a person’s online persona. Social media interaction is widely silent and we know text has its limitations, sentiments can be difficult to express in 140 characters."
At last - the days of inadvertently upsetting someone who completely misses the sarcasm in your message may be over. However, just imagine how loud people are actually going to have to shout to get noticed...
It's available to download now.
