Rob Brydon just confirmed a third series of The Trip is happening
It’s full speed ahead for Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon, as a third helping of their incredible comedy series The Trip is now on the menu.
In a reply to a curious fan on Twitter who asked if there was another installment on the horizon, Rob Brydon dropped the brilliant bombshell that he will be reuniting with Alan Partridge hero Steve Coogan to make more of the phenomenally good BBC show:
The message was later retweeted by the show’s production company Baby Cow, suggesting the return is legitimately happening, and not just one big attempt by the Welsh comic to silence demanding fans.
There’s no word on what corner of the world the next series will take Coogan and Brydon, having seen the duo eating posh lunches, quaffing red wine and perfecting their Sir Roger Moore and Sir Michael Caine impressions in Northern England and Italy in previous shows, with fans suggesting France or the US as possible destinations over social media.
There's no info on when we'll be seeing the new shows either, but expect the team to blow the bloody doors off 2016 when it finally hits our screens.
