Robbie Keane responded to Roy Keane’s ‘breastfeeding’ comment in brilliant fashion
We do hope Robbie Keane's been taking karate lessons.
Earlier this week, you may have seen a video of Roy Keane standing in front of a scrum of journalists as they asked whether Robbie Keane would be joining the green men for their weekend Euro Qualifier in Dublin, having just seen his wife give birth in Los Angeles.
Never one to shirk a soundbite, the Irish coach answered in typically acidic style, telling the reporters that unless Robbie Keane’s "breastfeeding" he fully expected the LA Galaxy striker Keane to fly back from the US and meet up with the squad.
Despite the fact few would ever risk incurring the bearded wrath of Roy Keane, his younger namesake has just fired back in wonderful style.
Flanked by manager Martin O’Neill for a press conference in which the footballer was asked if he’d heard Keane’s comments, he simply folded his arms and delivered the deadpan line: “He’s used to it because he’s got bigger tits than me.”
Childish? Certainly. Unbecoming of a seasoned professional? Possibly. Utterly hilarious? You bet. Even O'Neill couldn't resist a smile.
They’re Keane on their banter in the Irish team.
