On the hunt for a puddle-baiting pair of shoes to add to your autumnal armoury? How about an equally rugged jacket to match?
Well happily, in the case of Barbour’s latest collaboration with adidas Originals, released right on cue to help wade through sludgy conditions in style, both your Christmases have come at once. And you've quite the selection to choose from.
The two pairs of trainers and one pair of boots are just a small part of a wider collection between the British heritage brand and wily German sports giants, which sees outdoor style spliced with rugged high-tech fabric technology.
While the shoes have been given a neat Anglo-German twist with merged flags on the tongue, they've also put a new spin on Barbour’s classic wax jacket - the Adiwick’s robust 8oz beeswax number, sporting large bellows pockets, studded detachable hood and rear zipped pocket, is full proof of that.
The other unexpected treat comes in the shape of the Baradi jacket, inspired by a customized jacket which Barbour created for a captain in the British army at the time of the Falklands War, and decked out with camouflage lining made up of sections of the accompanying adidas Originals GSG-9.
The capsule collection will be available in select Barbour and Adidas retail stores from 8 November.
Good luck dodging puddles before then.
