Russell Brand wants to be a 'Strictly' judge now Noel Fielding is confimed for 'Bake Off'
Not even this would be surprising anymore
Having heard of his mate Noel Fielding’s upcoming ‘roll’ on The Great British Bake Off, flamboyant funny-man Russell Brand has decided that he wants a ‘slice’ of the action too.
Surrealist comic Fielding has been announced as one of the hosts on the next series of Bake Off – a move that has shocked, baffled and angered people up and down the land.
Noel and Sandi Toksvig will replace Mel and Sue as the show’s hypemen – if you can use the term hypemen when referring to a baking show.
Brand has taken to Twitter this morning, vowing to replace Len as a judge on Strictly. To be fair, it might actually liven it up a bit if nothing else
The Mighty Boosh star was quick to respond, praising himself and Brand for “representing goths in the mainstream” – his overuse of that word makes us think that he may not actually know what a goth is.
Still though, using Noel’s definition of the word, we could be looking at a full-scale ‘goth’ takeover on primetime television if Brand actually sticks to his word and boots Len off Strictly.
Personally, we reckon we’d like to see Marilyn Manson doing Grand Designs and Cradle of Filth as pundits on Match of the Day.
Unlikely? Yes, possibly, but we live in hope.
