Here's the very first clip from Sacha Baron Cohen's new Trump-baiting TV show
This is shaping up to be amazing
We’ve already written about Sacha Baron Cohen’s latest project, although not much was known about it just a mere four days ago - all we had was a cryptic teaser. We weren’t even sure if it was a TV show or a film - terrible investigative journalism from us, there, we must be reprimanded.
But hey! Now we know a bit more about it - we know it’s most likely going to be called Who Is America, and will be a series on US network Showtime.
They’ve described the lead character as “shameless,” “unhinged,” and “cold-blooded” - and it will apparently be “perhaps the most dangerous show in the history of television”.
Here’s a small, no-information-revealed-whatsoever teaser:
Not giving much away there, but thankfully, we now have the first clip, courtesy of Cohen, and it’s a doozy:
Yep, that’s Dick Cheney signing a ‘waterboarding kit’ at the request of an offscreen Cohen, using an accent and presumably in disguise. Back to his roots, humiliating famous people it seems, a direction which is entirely welcome - he is the undisputed master of getting people to say the absolute worst things possible, after all.
Baron Cohen posted this on Twitter on American Independence Day last week - a mock ‘Trump University’ clip of the president berating him as a ‘third-rate character’:
The show is set to air on July 15, so we’ve not got long to wait until we can see an actual, full, proper episode. Very exciting.
