Sean Spicer has hit back at Melissa McCarthy's "mean" SNL parody
Donald & Sean have had their feelings hurt
As with so much of Donald Trump’s Presidency, you couldn’t make this up.
The defender of an administration that delights in nothing more than calling out people who don’t like its policies as ‘snowflakes’, White House press secretary Sean Spicer, has complained about Alex Baldwin and Melissa McCarthy’s depiction of himself and Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live, calling it ‘mean’. Ah diddums, Seany, did they upset you?
McCarthy received plaudits from across the world as her deranged performance as Spicer went viral, but it seems the target of her work did not like it. He also objected to Alec Baldwin’s ongoing portrayal of Trump – his latest sketch saw him lampoon the reportedly the President’s recent phone calls to other world leaders.
He told Extra, "Alec has gone from funny to mean, and that's unfortunate. 'SNL' used to be really funny. There's a streak of meanness now that they've crossed over to mean." He also said gave advice to McCarthy saying that she "could dial back" a bit, and "needs to slow down on the gum chewing; way too many pieces in there".
Of course, President Trump has already given his critical opinion on the show twice before:
Which is worse Donny, SNL or The Apprentice? Why not give that conundrum (look it up) some thought instead of, y’know, issuing any more executive orders, OK?
