Sir Patrick Stewart is applying for US citizenship to take on Donald Trump
After having the worst night's sleep next to the White House
Meme (and acting) royalty Sir Patrick Stewart has revealed that he is applying for US citizenship to fight Donald Trump.
While on US day time chat show The View to promote Logan, he was asked about a tweet from last month where he revealed he had the worst sleep of his life before realising he was sleeping too close for comfort to Donald Trump:
While he said the tweet was “fairly innocent” and he did not “directly insult your president” (to which Whoopi Goldberg responded “not mine”), it turns out Sir Patrick was in Washington to meet with “government insiders” to discuss what can be done about the problem called Trump.
Their advice was to “fight, fight, oppose, oppose”, which he feels so strongly about that he has decided to apply for US citizenship for just that reason.
“I’m not a [US] citizen. However, there is, maybe it’s the only good thing, as a result of this election: I am now applying for citizenship.
“Because I want to be an American too, because all of my friends in Washington said there is one thing you can do: fight, fight, oppose, oppose. But I can’t do it because I’m not a citizen.”
When host Joy Behar asked if he’d like to take Trump off their hands, Sir Patrick responded with: “We have our own problems [Brexit]”.
Perhaps his experience as CIA deputy director Bullock in American Dad will help place him as the leader of the revolution? No, but seriously, please?
