Humankind has done an awful lot of things with bronze (or so Wikipedia told us). Watchmaker Archimede have used this most versatile of alloys to create a timepiece with a modern, stylish relevance.
This is the Pilot 39H Bronze, a brilliantly clean watch design that avoids tarnishing its simple face with showy branding - the Archimede logo sneaking into the 12 position and adoring the bronze crown.
The bronze case is offset by subtle blue hands, which like the numbers and indexes (thems the markings), are luminous. Things only get showy when you turn the piece over, the delicate Swiss made movement visible through a clear backing.
Available for £572 ($695), one of the three strap choices (black, light brown and dark brown) should match at least some of your shoes.
