Most people use their one phone call a day in prison to speak to a loved one, but not Romanian soccer chairman Gigi Becali; he had far more important priorities.
The millionaire businessman, politician and chairman of top European side Steaua Bucharest (pictured above in suitably modest surroundings), is currently incarcerated in the city's Rahova jail for abuses of power and corruption, but it's clearly not stopping him keeping an eye on the really important things in life.
He found out that English side Tottenham Hotspur had arranged a deal to buy centre back Vlad Chiriches for £6m and immediately ordered the transfer to be halted.
A local newspaper reports that he said "Who are Tottenham? Do not do any transfer, my name is Gigi Becali! I'm not a slave to anybody! We have an important game in the Champions League, why can't they wait? Until winter he will not leave under any circumstances. They made a big mistake. They sparked anger in Gigi."
And thus, the transfer was off, and Tottenham have to search for someone else. They clearly did not want to spark any more anger in Gigi - probably a wise move all told.
