Here's what Stan Lee has to say about Tom Holland's portrayal of Spider-Man
Does the big man rate Tom's spidey?
There have been quite a few Spider-Men, hasn’t there? Like, since the ‘70s, loads of people have either stuck the mask on or lent their voice to the famous web-slinger. But if we get hella real for a second, there are only really three main Spider-Mans, and they are Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland.
First up, we had Tobes in Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2 and woah Nelly, you guessed it, Spider-Man 3. Then old Andy Garfs slid his greased shins into the suit for The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (no part 3 for him though, because who cares if the whole thing was left on a huge cliffhanger? Who cares!). Finally, we have our current Spider-Man, Tommy “The Spider” Holland, who has appeared in Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War and the upcoming Avengers 4, tentatively titled The One Where Everyone Comes Back To Life And The Whole Of Infinity War Is Rendered A Stupid Waste Of Time.
Anyway, some “one” on the internet decided to ask it who it thought was the best of the three (weird that nobody ever in the history of the world had asked this before) and it kicked off, baby. In fact, it kicked off so much, that the one-and-only Stan Lee got involved and gave his two very expensive cents.
And you think that’s enough kicking off for one Twitter article? Strap your bonces in, grandparents, because it’s about to get wet in the kitchen! Look who responded:
So that’s it all cleared up then, yeah? Tom was the best Spidey? Well, no, because Lee has definitely said the same thing about the other two actors before, telling ComicBook.com:
“I don’t know if I’m easy to please. Andrew Garfield did a great job.”
He also praised Tobey Maguire’s stab at the character, saying “Maybe it’s an easy role to play. I don’t know.”
So hey, why don’t we all just agree that it’s very bad to offend anyone, and say that they were all exactly the same level of good at playing Spider-Man. There, that wasn’t so hard, was it? Someone should do the Batmans next.
