Steve Avery's lawyer has a new suspect in the 'Making A Murderer' case
Making A Murderer, episode number... we've lost count.
Making A Murderer, episode number... we've lost count.
The latest development in the never-ending trials and tribulations of Steven Avery (you can read back over the saga here) has seen his new lawyer Kathleen Zellner make some bold claims concerning new suspects in the case.
"We have a couple," she told Newsweek. "I’d say there’s one, leading the pack by a lot. But I don’t want to scare him off, I don’t want him to run."
Zellner, who's legal career has seen her take on a number of wrongful convictions similar to Avery's, has suggested that all the new suspects knew Teresa Halbach, who was murdered in 2005.
"We have to have new evidence that could not have been obtained before that would result in no juror believing that Steven Avery committed the crime."
Zellner has been publicly Tweeting her progress ever since she took on Avery's case, dropping tantalising teases of her new lines of enquiry.
And for those armchair detectives still working on their own cases...
Oh. Right. Thanks, Zellner.
